The legal maxim “Damnum Sine Injuria” means damage without injury, signifying that the defendant is not liable for any damages if acting within legal rights, even if infringing on the plaintiff's rights. Damages can be monetary or physical. This paper explores the history and origin of the maxim and its relevance in modern times. The Law of Torts has evolved with societal changes, and two case laws are analyzed to highlight the maxim's application in Indian courts.
