Article Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawal Policy – International Journal of Current Research and Techniques (IJCRT)
At IJCRT, we are deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, fully aligned with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors submitting their manuscripts to IJCRT are expected to adhere to these standards, including those relating to manuscript withdrawal.
1. Right of First Publication
When a manuscript is submitted to IJCRT, the authors grant the journal exclusive rights for first publication. Therefore, any request for withdrawal, especially after the manuscript has entered the peer review or acceptance stage must follow a strict and ethical protocol.
2. Withdrawal Request Procedure
Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript must:
-
Submit the withdrawal request through the corresponding author only.
-
Include a signed declaration from all co-authors confirming the withdrawal.
-
Clearly state the reason for the withdrawal.
-
Send the request directly to the IJCRT editorial office via email.
A manuscript is considered withdrawn only after formal approval from the Editor-in-Chief and receipt of an official confirmation from the editorial team. Submission to another journal before this confirmation is considered unethical.
3. Partial APC for Withdrawn Manuscripts
If a manuscript is withdrawn after peer review has begun or after provisional acceptance, the authors are required to pay 50% of the standard Article Processing Charge (APC). This fee helps recover editorial and peer-review-related expenses already incurred.
4. Unethical Withdrawal by Non-Response
Failure to respond to editorial communications after peer review or provisional acceptance, such as ignoring emails regarding revisions or publication agreements, will be treated as unethical withdrawal.
5. Consequences of Unethical Withdrawal
Unethical withdrawal, including unauthorized re-submission or publication in another journal, will lead to serious consequences:
-
Authors will be rendered ineligible to submit to IJCRT for 5 years.
-
Notification to the authors' affiliated institutions, funding agencies, and academic oversight bodies.
-
Reporting to indexing and abstracting services.
-
Escalation to COPE in cases of severe misconduct.
6. Ethical Publishing Practices
IJCRT strictly adheres to COPE’s international standards for publication ethics. Authors are strongly encouraged to review COPE’s guidelines on manuscript withdrawal and responsible authorship prior to submission.
