Abstract

The large-scale accumulation of solid waste in mining areas and the high-carbon footprint of traditional cement-based materials present dual challenges for sustainable underground construction. This study investigates the preparation of high-performance cementitious materials from activated coal gangue and tailings for roadway pavement applications. Systematic experiments confirm the developed material exhibits superior mechanical strength, enhanced durability in humid/corrosive environments, and excellent environmental safety compliance. Furthermore, we propose an integrated technical solution encompassing optimized mix design, specialized construction techniques, and quality control protocols. This approach enables effective solid waste valorization while significantly reducing construction costs and environmental impact, providing practical support for green mine development and circular economy implementation in mining operations.
